Environment
Standard refrigerants are R404A (R452A will drop in for R404A when required) or R134A but we can also supply with R452A or CO2 refrigerants.
Unfortunately the current C02 option has higher power consumption but all our suppliers are working on less environmentally damaging options and to replace a machine is bolt out - bolt in! Job done in a few hours.
ON BOARD STOWAGE
ArcticStore products are in general ISO/CSC and can be lifted to all types of vessels.
If handling vessel to vessel/platform at sea DNV offshore containers may be required and these can be supplied.

ArcticStore cold stores deliver the required temperature control and more! Drugs, medicines and vaccines require perfect hygienic storage with minimal temperature variance from set point. ArcticStores provide -40°C/-40°F - +45°C/+113°F throughout the cold store. Many pharmaceutical manufacturing and pharma cold chain logistics companies use our ArcticStore and SuperStores. Many have been thermally mapped to ensure compliance.

Our 1-hand opening doors means everyone can effortlessly open and close the door. Extremly user friendly. ArcticStores are fitted with door lock and air curtains. A purpose built ramp can be supplied.
There is a very fast pull down time.
This ensures fast recovery to set point where the doors are being opened and closed frequently at shows, festivals, concerts and other events. TITAN supply all types of caterers, from some of the world's largest breweries, catering companies to the local boy scouts serving burgers at the town fair.
1000 pints of beer or soft drinks will be chilled by 24°C/75°F in less than 1½ hours when using the high speed fans.

Fruit and Vegetable storage for growers and distributors

Cut flowers and plant storage
Fresh air exchange improves storage environment for cut flowers and living plants.
ArcticStores containers have also been used to delay and advance flowering of bulbs and other plants. They have further been used in the cultivation of infant trees and various types of mushrooms.
Operating with low fan speed reduces plant dehydration and saves power.
Seed storage
All forms of plant and crop seeds can be stored in ArcticStores.
In the event you need to fumigate please do not do this in refrigerated containers as the gases can cause permanent damage to the container and machinery.
Fresh & frozen Fish and Shellfish, even Tuna storage
Is another common application. Our containers feature hermetic drains and are easy to clean to maintain hygienic conditions in the cold store.
Oily fish are often best stored at -30°C/-22°F to -40°C/-40°F and Tuna even colder at -50°C/-58°F to -60°C/-76°F. ArcticStores operate as low as -40°C/-40°F and our Arctic Ultra Freezer is great for storing Tuna at down to -65°C/-85°F.
Low fan speed at chill temperatures reduces dehydration of wet fished being stored on ice. There are hermetically sealing drains at each corner.
Freezing harvested and farmed fresh fish is a common application for our portable blast freezer, the

cheese and other dairy products storage
Most milk and related dairy products can be stored in our cold stores. The precise zone temperature control throughout and easy cleaning of the food grade stainless steel interiors create a perfect environment for all dairy products at manufacturers or through the cold chain that follows.
Cheese is most common product stored in ArcticStores though the TITAN
UltraFreezer with temperature control as low as -65°C/-85°F has also some applications for culture growth related to sour milk products.
Cold and Heat testing of components and products
With new engineering materials for components there is an ongoing need for temperature testing components and complete products.
As we expand engineering activities into more hostile environments cold testing of individual components and complete products has become a regular requirement.
Our regular ArcticStores will maintain as low as -40°C/-40°F and are large enough to get a completed car inside for testing. Ultra Freezer will go as low as -65°C/-85°F whilst our HotStores will heat to 60°C/+140°F.
Entire test faciilities are in use with amongst others the car manufacturing industry.
Industrial materials, components and products
Some modern industrial materials often best stored in at an optimal and constant temperatures. This includes such materials as carbon fibres and adhesives but also many chemicals need to be kept within certain temperature bands prior to use. Most recently temperature controlled storage of delicate and sensitive electrical and computer components has been a growing trend.
ArcticStores operate between -40°C/-40°F and +45°C/+113°F and for really warm temperatures we have the HotStore that will maintain up to +60°C/+140°F. Ultra Freezer goes down to -65°C/-76°F

Cold plate technologies
The proliferation of home grocery deliveries and reducing use of dry ice to cool airline containers has given rise to a growing demand for large scale refigeration of the cooling plates now in use as non-mechanical refrigeration.
ArcticStores and ArtcticBlast refrigeration are an excellent solution to pre-cooling modern non-mechanical refrigeration alternatives that are increasingly being used for local food distribution and in air cargo containers.
Airline containers with fresh products or pharmaceuticals
At airports there is a growing awareness of heat gain in airline containers loaded with pharma and exotic foods. Where there is insufficient refrigerated warehousing our products are used to boost refrigerated storage capacity.
Keep the contents cold or cool by placing the entire air cargo container into an ArcticStore. TITAN can supply 20' and 40' ArcticStores with multiple side doors for easy access.
SuperStore models are available with air container roller floors.
Killing bed bugs and other infestations
As we travel more it seems there is an increasing tendency that sometimes we bring unwanted house guests to hotels, schools, our homes and even in taxis! After 72 hours in a container at -40F and bed bugs and their eggs are dead! The core temperature of all contents will be well below their tolerance!! Heat over +110F can also be used.
ArcticStores are often used by museums, hotels and other business interests as well as and private people to eradicate infestations in furniture, clothes, bed linen, curtains, carpets, fabrics and even cars!

Safe storage with dry ice
Dry ice starts to vaporize (change from dry ice to gaseous CO2) in temperatures warmer than very chilly -78.4C°C/-109°F for non-degrading storage the temperature needs to be at or lower than these temperatures. TITAN’s latest UltraFreezer can maintain close to these temperatures in moderate ambient temperatures. The shelf life of the dry ice is greatly extended even at slightly warmer temperatures.
The use of mechanical refrigeration in containers, to store dry ice, presents other issues users need to be aware of and pay attention to. IF the dry ice is converting to gaseous CO2 then the closed container will experience atmospheric modification creating a CO2 rich atmosphere.
Further, gaseous CO2 has a much greater volume than dry ice and if stored in an air tight container an over-pressure can occur with the potential of the container exploding. ArcticStores include floor drains in each corner. If you wish to store dry ice then these drains should be permanently open allowing the gaseous CO2 (that naturally sinks as heavier than air) to exit the container through these drains. The area around the container should be ventilated at ground level to disperse the CO2.
The storage of dry ice needs take these and other potential hazards like frostbite and ice burns into account and should only ever be performed by experienced personnel with required training and expertise.
There is the potential of real and serious health hazards when storing and handling dry ice. Particularly for anyone entering the container before the entire container is flushed by opening the door for a period of time.
