2nd June

May 20th and 21st saw 6 of the team (Ben, Aaron, Liam, Dillon, Shane and Conor take on Internation Teams at a Nations Cup in France - Trophee Centre Morbihan.  The lads showed great strengths against this high calibre field.  There were three stages over two days.  In the first stage Liam, Ben, Conor and Shane finished in the bunch very close on time to the yellow jersey.  Dillon and Aaron had mechanical both losing a bit of time.

Day 2 started with an Individual Time Trial where Ben had a great result finishing in 7th position which left him in 8th in GC going into the afternoons stage.

Again sterling performance from all the lads where they all finished well up there with Ben holding 8th position overall giving him a top 10 against some of the best Juniors in the world.

On May 14th - the team were competing in the prestigious Shay Elliot and Liam Curley took his first win of the season with Ben finishing in 4th position and the rest of the lads all coming inside the Top 10.

May 12th - The Team had their official Launch in Knockranny Hotel in Westport, attended by our main sponsors, Titan Containers, Iveagh Fitness, Velotec Custom Clothing, BMC, Born Nutrition and the man himself, Nicolas Roche and manager, Philip Finegan.  A very successful evening with a large turnout.

from 30th May

On May 7th the Deenside Cup in Kilkenny saw Liam finish second and Sean third in A3 race with Ben and Aaron competing in A1 and Ben winning mountains prize.

Over the May bank holiday weekend we had 6 riders (Ben, Aaron, Shane, Dillon, Eoghan McLaughlin and Conor Halvey) racing abroad at a Nations Cup - TPPO France. Aaron Doherty was 22nd on the final stage. This was a good performance for Aaron being a first year Junior. Good team effort. Ben Walsh finished in the same time.  Aaron and Ben finished 43rd and 46th overall.  The team time trial performance was affected by losing two riders on the first stage due to crashes. But first big race of the year abroad and massive experience gained for our first year juniors. And at home on the same weekend - Eoghan Ruane had a great second place on Sunday afternoon at Kanturk and Liam was unlucky not to do better than second in Wexford

April 25th - Liam and Sean were racing at Mondello Park and were in the thick of the action with Liam getting away with two top senior riders Matteo Cigala and Dermot Turlock at the finish.  Unfortunately junior gears and downhill finishes don't suit against senior riders on higher gears so Liam finished in a fantastic third place with Sean in the bunch

April 23rd saw Luke, Ben and Conor compete in the National Track Championships.
Ben won Gold in 3k Pursuit and Bronze in Scratch.
Luke won Gold in kilo and also new national record. Bronze in Pursuit. Silver in scratch. And silver in sprint. Conor was just outside the medals but would have learned a lot as a first year junior.

Great work Luke and Ben with your 2017 Junior National Track Championship wins.  You're gonna need a bigger trophy cabinet!!

from 29th April

NRPT had a very successful weekend at the Gorey 3 Day in Wexford the weekend before last.

Ten of the team competed and all worked very hard over the weekend with excellent teamwork giving excellent results and winning the overall Team Prize.   Dillon Corkery took the mountains jersey and Eoghan McLaughlin finished 3rd overall.  The lads were in the mix all weekend with stage placings in the top 10.This weekend saw three of our riders compete in the Track National Champtionships in Sundrive Velodrome.  Luke Smith took the new National Record in the Kilo and had three other podium finishes.

Ben Walsh took Gold in the Pusuit and Bronze in the Scratch.

Conor Halvey, although didn't quite manage a podium proved very strong and one to watch for next year.

Six of the team (Aaron Doherty, Ben Walsh, Conor Halvey, Dillon Corkery, Eoghan McLaughlin and Shane Ryall) will be travelling to France this weekend to their first international race of 2017, Tour Portes Pays D'Othe at Troyes, where our riders will compete against some of the best Juniors in Europe.

We wish them all the best.
