Chemical and biotech cold storage rental
Rent secure walk-in temperature-controlled capacity for approved materials, processes and projects – without the expense or disruption of permanent construction.
Add cold storage capacity for projects, batches and facility changes
Chemical and biotechnology operations can outgrow their existing fixed storage space for many reasons: a new program, a larger batch, a shutdown, a qualification project or a delayed facility extension. We provide portable temperature-controlled containers that add capacity at your site for as long as you need – whether that’s months or years. Start with the approved material specification and bring environmental, health, safety and quality requirements into the brief. We’ll use your temperature, load, packaging and controls to assess the best units for you. Available as self-contained, walk-in units from 10ft to 40ft, our cold storage containers can help with:
- Project inventory: separate materials for a campaign, trial or transfer.
- Maintenance cover: create alternative capacity during planned plant work.
- Batch growth: add room without crowding validated or controlled areas.
- Contingency: establish a documented alternative before primary capacity is unavailable.

Choose from cold, ultra-low and heated models
TITAN’s ArcticStore collection covers a wide temperature range, and each model has unique properties. You can place any of our units indoors or outdoors. Choose from:
- ArcticStore: available in 10ft, 20ft and 40ft sizes with a -40°C to +45°C range. Suits many controlled, chilled and frozen applications.
- Arctic UltraFreezer: a 20ft or 40ft specialist unit operating from -75°C to -10°C for materials requiring temperatures below a conventional freezer range.
- HotStore: a 20ft or 40ft unit maintaining +45°C to +85°C for approved heated-storage applications.
- Arctic SuperStore: a modular open-plan room built from compatible units whenever you need larger capacity or defined temperature bays.
Temperature capability is just one of many variables. Before renting, also consider chemical compatibility and controls such as classification, segregation, ventilation, fire protection, secondary containment, access and regulatory approvals. Our expert team is happy to discuss your specific use case to help you find the best solution.
Rent space without fixing tomorrow’s footprint
A permanent cold room can be the right answer for stable long-term demand. Rental is more flexible. It’s useful when you need temperature-controlled chemical storage for a project, campaign or uncertain growth plans. It turns cold storage into a recurring monthly operating cost – and avoids a full build before knowing if you really need it. Our flexible rental terms support short and extended installations, and we handle unit maintenance under the agreement. We can discuss additional containers or a modular layout as your programs change.
Get live container data for faster operational response
Almost all our cold storage units come with SmartArctic remote monitoring. Authorized users can see operating temperatures 24/7, configure alarms, download history and access remote diagnostics. SmartArctic gives operations and quality teams a shared view of container performance. Pair its history with your internal monitoring systems for a reliable safety and product record.
Create a complete material-intake brief
Careful planning before choosing refrigerated chemical storage means thinking about both the material and its hazards. If you have it, share your safety data, classification, packaging, maximum quantity and any controls already specified by your technical team. Also share any details about incompatible groups and whether materials will share the space. How will the loads enter the unit? Already conditioned drums or cartons create a different cooling demand from material that must be cooled after production. When calculating what kind of cold storage you need, think about door frequency, rack layout and any required recovery or alarm limits. This information exposes equipment boundaries early and prevents temperature capability from being mistaken for chemical suitability.

Build safety and qualification into your site plan
Before delivery, agree on positioning and consider both power supply and access routes. Complete any necessary risk, quality and regulatory reviews for the intended materials, too. Other important considerations:
- Surface and access: provide a level, load-bearing position and safe delivery clearance.
- Power: arrange the correct electrical connection and any resilience required by the process.
- Material controls: document compatibility, segregation, inventory limits and emergency arrangements.
- Qualification: plan mapping, calibration, validation and release activities with the responsible quality team.
- Operations: plan authorized access, loading, door activity and inspection routes.
Tailored cold storage for demanding industries
Meet every regulation and deadline with risk-proof containers – monitored, validated and supported around the clock.

FAQs about Chemical & Biotech Cold Storage
What temperature range is available for chemical and biotech storage?
Across separate TITAN models, the range extends from -103°F with Arctic UltraFreezer to +185°F with HotStore. The selected model must match the approved material specification.
Can all chemicals go into a refrigerated container?
No. Your qualified team must confirm compatibility, segregation, ventilation, hazard controls, approvals and the correct storage condition before any material is placed in the unit.
Is remote temperature monitoring available?
Almost all cold storage units can use SmartArctic for operating visibility, alarms, downloadable history and remote diagnostics.
Can TITAN provide a larger biotech cold room?
Yes. Compatible units can be combined into an open-plan Arctic SuperStore with separate bays where required.
