How our open top containers speed up loading times
When you buy an open top container from TITAN, you can speed up the loading of certain types of goods.
Providing you have access to a crane, you can lower goods in much more quickly than trying to manhandle them in through the end doors. Even side door containers don’t offer quite the same level of flexibility.
Our open tops are ideal for anyone who needs to transport or store:
- Oversized and extra-tall items
- Bulky materials, including grain and ore
- Large, heavy machinery
- Industrial cable spools and pipes
- And more.
Winching goods straight into your container can not only be quicker but also much safer, keeping workers and forklifts well clear of the loading area.
We have new (1-trip) and used open top containers for sale at many of our international depots, and we offer fast, competitively-priced delivery.

Keep your goods dry with a solid roof or tarpaulin
Most people who buy an open top container keep the elements out by lashing a thick tarpaulin with roof bows to the top. Our containers have multiple fastening points all around the top frame to make this easy and keep rain out.
Another option we can also supply is a removable roof/metal lid to create a hard-top open top. This can be lifted off and reapplied in sections. These sections can be locked in place once your goods are inside, helping keep your items even more secure.
If you’re unsure which lid you need, please contact our open top container sales team.
A flexible storage solution at work or around the home
As well as larger organisations who purchase them for international shipping, we sell open top containers to private individuals and small businesses.
The main reason people buy open top containers is the access they provide from the top, unlike standard containers. They are perfect when:
Protecting bulky goods
Construction materials, heavy machinery, fertilisers and other goods can often only be loaded into a container from the top using an overhead crane. A 20ft or 40ft open top container with a tarp roof is sometimes the only viable solution.
Throwing or dropping scrap and refuse
Some clients buy open top containers to use like a large skip/dumpster. Whether you’re depositing scrap metal or building site waste, the top-down approach is often much simpler than loading from the end.
